So much to see and do you're going to have to write a list! Snorkel over the Great Barrier Reef, ride a cable car over the rainforest, hire a car and head north to Cape Tribulation and the charming town of Port Douglas. The city itself offers a wonderful lagoon and marina.

Australia's third largest city comes packed with culture, excellent shopping, top restaurants and more. Head out of the city to the sandy shores of Fraser Island, the Gold Coast beaches and nearby rainforests. There's plenty to do, but Brisbane manages to retain a laid-back charm.
Alice Springs
Several hundred miles away from the sea, this is the geographic heart of Australia. Down the road is the spiritual heart of Australia: Uluru. You can travel here in true style, aboard the Ghan railway which glides through on its way between Adelaide and Darwin.

Wild dolphins come right up to the beach at Monkey Mia. So close, in fact, that you can stand ankle-deep in water and feed them fish by hand!

- Take something warm to wear in the desert (it's cold at night)
- Wear suncream, wherever you go Down Under, and plenty of it
- Flying to Alice Springs and hiring a car is often cheaper than flying to Uluru
