Terms and Conditions for Emirates Cape Town Special Offer
These Terms and Conditions are provided by Emirates
Offer is applicable only to:
- New bookings made and ticketed on or after 1st March 2008.
- Passengers travelling exclusively on flights operated by Emirates (i.e. code-share flights operated by other carriers under an Emirates flight number and Itineraries that include flights of other airlines are excluded) to Cape Town.
- Adult fare paying passengers only (not applicable to passengers travelling on frequent flyer redemption tickets, passengers flying on fares not generally available to the public, voluntary and involuntary upgrades).
- Passengers holding return tickets to Cape Town and back (Offer NOT valid for one-way journeys), for example:
- Dubai/Cape Town/Dubai: entitled to the offer.
- London/Dubai/Cape Town/Dubai/London: entitled to the offer.
- Dubai/Cape Town: not entitled to the offer.
- Dubai/Cape Town: Johannesburg/Dubai: not entitled to the offer.
- Travel commencing (and accommodation/car rental utilised) between 30th March 2008 and 30th June 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- Pre-booked and confirmed accommodation/car rental only (bookings cannot be made on arrival in Cape Town). Passengers who arrive without a booking will have to pay all charges directly to the hotel/car rental supplier and Emirates will be unable to control those charges.
- Passengers whose travel originates from the Network (Outside South Africa).
Accommodation Offer includes:
- Room, Buffet Breakfast, taxes and service charges (transfers from airport to hotel and vice versa and all other ground services are excluded).
- Maximum occupancy of two adults per room.
- Maximum one child under 12 years of age sharing existing bedding in parents’ room.
- Check-in at 1200 hours, check-out at 1200 hours.
Car Rental Offer includes:
- Rental of a self-drive car with unlimited kilometres through Budget Rent a Car, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Loss Waiver, airport surcharge, tourism levy and VAT.
Car Rental Offer Excludes:
- Fuel, refundable deposit of ZAR 6,000, additional optional super insurance, non-waiverable excess of ZAR 11,000 and applicable towing charges in case of damage to or theft of the rental car, optional excess reduction, service fee of ZAR 35, one way fees, claim administration fee of ZAR 460 in the event of an accident/theft payable at the time of rental and ZAR 190 in the event of a traffic fine (in addition to the traffic fine).
Additional Information for Car Rental:
- Minimum driving age: for all car groups: 23 years. Young driver surcharge: for ages 21 to 22 years is ZAR 125 per day.
- Surcharges: one way rentals: a one way drop-off fee of ZAR 440 applies for one way rentals over 150 kilometres.
- One way rental from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town or vice versa: ZAR 600. Delivery/Collection fee: ZAR 120 within 25 kilometres and ZAR 5.15 per additional kilometres over 26 kilometres. International one way: rates available on request. Additional driver: ZAR 135 per rental.
- Baby seat: ZAR 140 per rental. Please request the baby seat at the time of reservation specifying the age of the child, and if a particular type of seat is required.
- Fine handling fee: ZAR 190 per fine.
Note (Car Rental):
- A credit card is required when collecting the car as security for the car rental company.
- Clients must hold a driving licence from their country of residence (for the minimum stipulated period) as well as an international driving licence in order to receive their rental car.
- Rental of some car models available from select locations only.
- Specific car models, engine capacities and automatic or manual transmissions cannot be guaranteed.
Important Conditions for the Route Launch Offer:
- Offer valid for travel originating outside of South Africa.
- Free night/s or Car Rental does not have to be used immediately upon arrival in Cape Town, but when used, must be consecutive.
- Free night/s or Car Rental is subject to availability at the time of booking. Emirates will endeavour to secure rooms for the dates requested but cannot be held liable for non-confirmation of rooms due to hotels being fully booked or for reasons beyond its control.
- Room bookings or Car Rental service may be cancelled without additional charge up to 48 hours prior to arrival in to Cape Town. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of arrival in Cape Town or no-shows will be charged at US$ 200.00 per person.
- Free Nights Offer is not applicable in conjunction with any other offer such as new route launch offer, two for one, companion fare offer, redemption and discounted tickets.
- Please ensure that you receive the “Accommodation/Car Rental Voucher” from your travel agency or local Emirates office. It is imperative that you hand this Voucher, duly stamped by the local Emirates office, and hand it over to the hotel or car rental provider together with your Boarding Pass. The hotel will not check you in and the car rental provider will not provide the car if your Boarding Pass is not attached to the Accommodation/Car Rental Voucher and if the flight number / sector details on the Voucher do not match the details on the Boarding Pass.
- Emirates will not be responsible for non-provision of complimentary accommodation or car rental if any of the above conditions are not fulfilled.
EMIRATES LIABILITY TO YOU
If Emirates arranges for a third party to provide you with surface carriage or other services (for example, a limousine, ground transfer, hotel reservation or accommodation or car rental) or if Emirates issues you with a ticket or voucher relating to any such surface carriage or other services, Emirates is acting only as your agent in making those arrangements or issuing the ticket or voucher. The terms and conditions of the third party providing those services will apply to you.
Emirates is not responsible for negligent acts or omissions of any third party supplier, its employees, agents or representatives, nor for any deficiency in the service provided and, in particular, Emirates has no liabilities for loss, personal injury or death however incurred unless such loss is caused solely by Emirates’ negligence.
As an international carrier Emirates is subject to international conventions which govern and may limit Emirates’ liability to you in respect of compensation for death or personal injury, loss of, or damage to, your baggage and for delay. The limitations of liability are contained in your ticket and form part of the terms and conditions which govern your carriage by air with Emirates. You acknowledge that the terms and conditions which govern your transport by air, including limits of liability imposed by applicable international conventions, shall be deemed to be included by reference into this contract.
Emirates is unable to accept any responsibility for loss, damage or expense due to unusual, unforeseeable events beyond Emirates reasonable control, the consequences of which could not be avoided even if all due care had been exercised, including but not limited to delays or changes in schedules, technical or maintenance problems, hotel overbooking or defaults, sickness, adverse weather conditions, natural or industrial disaster, industrial disputes involving third party suppliers, war, terrorist activity, quarantine or other causes. You accept full responsibility for such loss, damage or expense.
