Bangkok
Perfectly located for exploring the rest of Thailand, with the lush hills of the north and the tropical island of the south just a short flight, train or bus journey away. You'll have to tear yourself away from incredible sights such as the massive and ornate Grand Palace, or the monumental golden reclining Buddha. Pick up souvenirs in the many markets, or bag a bargain in a glitzy shopping mall then take to the Chao Phraya river on a leisurely ferry trip.

Goa
This is one of those destinations where you feel you can really get away from it all. Palm trees nod towards the glittering blue sea as if in invitation to gently melt into the soft powdery sand. The only thing you'll have to think about is when to venture inland to see the natural wonders and historic sights that this region provides in abundance, from the leviathan cathedrals of Old Goa, to Dudhsagar Falls, to the beautiful, colourful streets of Panjim.

Doha
Doha has taken the traditions of its past and developed them into a modern metropolis. The Museum of Islamic Arts is a prime example, and Souq Waqif is evidence of how a centuries-old market can be brought into the 21st century. You'll no longer find animals being brought to market, but you will be able to get some fantastic souvenirs including jewellery, spices and perfumes. The Corniche extends for several kilometres and affords magnificent city views.

Dubai
Destination of choice for 10 million tourists last year, there's plenty of good reasons for why this city is such a draw. Yes, there's miles of warm sandy beaches, but there's much more than that to look forward to. If you like shopping, you'll love Dubai: there's loads of places to spend your money. Bars are glitz and glam, but for a glimpse of tradition then head for the Heritage Village. Behind is desert, in front, the sea. Both provide opportunity for adventure.
