Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand, founded in 1940 as Tasman Empire Airways Limited, is the national airline of New Zealand. Based in Auckland and focusing on Australasia and the Pacific, the airline operates scheduled international and domestic passenger flights and cargo transport to nearly 50 destinations in Australia,'the South West Pacific, Asia, North America and the United Kingdom. Its main hub is Auckland International Airport, with a secondary hub at Los Angeles as well as focus cities of Christchurch and Wellington.
The airline has done well in travel awards in the last few years, including being voted number two in the Long Haul Leisure category in the tenth annual Cond' Nast UK Readers Travel Awards (2007).
