Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways is the flag carrier of Hong Kong. Founded in 1946, the airline operates passenger and cargo services to over 100 destinations worldwide across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Australasia. Its hub is Hong Kong International airport.
Boasting a fleet of over 100 aircraft already, Cathay plans to take on 33 new planes by 2010. Since 2004, the airline has operated one of the longest direct flights in the world, from New York JFK to Hong Kong over the North Pole ' a distance of around 13000km.
Cathay Pacific Airways is one of only five airlines to carry a five-star rating from Skytrax.
