
Etihad is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and is based in the capital city of Abu Dhabi. Since its foundation in 2003 by a Royal decree, Etihad has operated flights to around 45 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, the Indian subcontinent, North America, Far East and Australasia. In the UK, Etihad flies from London Heathrow and Manchester airports.
Etihad's fleet comprises nearly 30 planes, with 24 more on order. In 2006 the airline received the World's Leading New Airline Award and the World's Leading Flatbed Seat in the World Travel Awards.
Etihad's unique names for its First, Business and Economy classes are Diamond, Pearl and Coral zones.
