Created on 1926 as Varney Airlines, United claims to be the oldest commercial airline in the United States. Today, it is a major American airline, flying to 210 US domestic and international destinations from its hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago and Washington DC. In the UK it serves London Heathrow airport.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, United operates 3600 flights a day to Asia, Europe, North, Central, South America, and Oceania with a 460-strong fleet.

United offers in-flight entertainment on all mainline aircraft, with music programming and docking capability for Apple's iPod portable music and video player.
