Dublin car hire
As one of the few centres offering car hire in the east of Ireland, Dublin is a natural starting point for a trip around 'the Emerald Isle'. Roads have been significantly improved in the last decade, opening up the East Coast and Midlands regions to easy exploration.
Choices further afield include a journey on the N1 which snakes up the coast to Belfast and, due to a recent motorway upgrade, only takes about 90 minutes to get there. Cork, about three hours to the south-west, is Ireland's second largest city and one of Europe's top cultural centres, while in the rural west the bright green scenery alone is worth the trip.
